Who we are

Who we are

The Farmhouse “Guerrini” originates in 1972 when Orfeo Guerrini gave as a present three hectares of Vineyard to his son Eugenio. In the decade 1990-2000 the farm was enlarged through the acquisition of lands and buildings in the municipalities of Pergine Valdanro and Bucine, up to 145 hectares, cultivated with vineyards, olive groves and seeding areas. Moreover breeding of OVINI and SUINI is also practiced, as well as rural tourism.

The wines

Vineyards represent 25 hectares of the land, rather than the further 7 hectares are being installed. The vineyards extend on the hills, by following with their installation the curves of maximum slide and they live in harmony with the other cultivations, in particular by integrating themselves with the olive surrounding background. The most important wine production avails itself of the controlled and granted denomination “Chianti”. Other wines fall within the DOC Pietraviva and IGT Tuscany denominations. The vineyards exposition is aimed to optimize the benefits of the sunbeams.

The lands

The lands usually present themselves with a high presence of skeleton and they have got an alkaline matrix. In some cases they are of a medium mixture, tending to clay. The cultivation mother, on the hilly areas, results to be not very deep, by exalting a viticulture of small quantity and of an excellent quality of the final product.

Position

Our farm is situated within the municipalities of Pergine Valdarno and Bucine, at the centre of a geographical triangle, at whose sides we find Siena (Km 36), Arezzo 8Km 18) and Florence (Km 50). The land is characterized by an hilly system, dividing the Arno valley and connecting to Siena through the natural corridor represented by the two hydro geographical basins of the streams Scerfio and Ambra. Vineyards, olive groves, woods and chest-nuts woods, farmhouses, farms and a lot of small villages with rocks and castles, make this land a “jewel” to be preserved for the future.
